"Ever since I was a boy, and that is a long time ago, I have harboured a dream to have my own 28mm Naploeonic metal army that was painted better than I could personally ever hope to achieve

It was at Salute 2009 that I ran into Toby at his Artmaster display and I have never looked back

A couple of months later, my first commission went to Toby, and for the following 18 months, my dream took shape and became reality

I now own what I consider to be one of the finest and best painted French, British, Spanish and Portuguese skirmish armies available

The quality of the paintwork and attention to detail is quite simply astounding – I take immense pride and pleasure in their ownership and at every opportunity I display and show them to family, friends and wargaming colleagues

If you are looking for astounding brushwork at what I believe are competitive prices – then look no further than the team at Artmaster"

“I cheekily took Artmaster up on there “Ever wanted to have a figure painted by us but are too shy to ask?‏” offer from this blog. I was exceedingly glad that I did as the quality of the painting is superb. The figure really stands out and I cannot wait to show it off to my D&D friends and they will be green with envy.

Toby was friendly and nice to deal with and even though Artmaster are a well busy company he created a cracking figure. He is a very professional, skilled painter.

Many thanks,

Donnie Doyle”

Artmaster Studio 15mm Figure Review

We offered people the chance to get a figure painted by us in exchange for an honest and open review which we could post on this blog and they could post on their websites and forums.

Below is one for Queen Boudicca in 15mm

"I recently had 'Corvus Belli's' Queen Boudicca in Chariot painted for me by 'Artmaster Studio'. As most of my ancient armies are already painted, my transition to FoG has involved the purchase of a number of different command packs and figures from various manufacturers with the intention of creating some small vignettes on the 40mm x 40mm command bases. I decided to take advantage of a deal that 'Artmaster Studio' were offering of some free painting, and duly sent the command pack, in return for which was an honest review of their work.

For me the key to a figure is the face and in this case the layered flesh tones are very effective at distance, from the opponent's side, revealing all the detail of the face in these nicely sculpted figures, and stand up equally to the close scrutiny of the home supporters with magnifying glasses. The only painting direction I could give to the guys was in regard to her famous red hair, but in framing her hair with the green and blue of her clothing and cloak it has made the figure of Boudicca really stand out. All the figures, including the horses, have subtle shading and highlights, with her signature red hair unmistakeable without being too gaudy. The detail in the stripes and checks of both the Queen and her driver are also impressive. Even the woodwork of the chariot and spear was a nice surprise with the grain of the wood painted in, which shows real attention to detail. Finally, the chariot is nicely based with highlighted ballast and small rocks and various types of grass tufts.

Overall, the figures are nicely sculpted and posed and beautifully painted and based. I have since sent several more command vignettes of different armies to be painted, and this time I will be paying for them."

Jeff

Review of Pirate Figure Painted by Artmaster Studio

We offered people the chance to get a figure painted by us in exchange for an honest and open review which we could post on this blog and they could post on their websites and forums.

Below is one for a Black Scorpion Pirate.

I found Artmaster to be a quality and efficient painting service. They were honest and straight forward about timescales and easy to deal with.
The actual figure painted by Artsmaster: it is one of the best I have seen. The shading, especially on the face, shows incredible detail and skill. The request for specific colours was followed with out loosing the individual flair of Artmaster’s own style. I was very pleased with the end result.
As a company Artsmaster have shown a very professional service with good communication skills. I can only recommend them and will be using their services again with full confidence.

Write a review about us

Ever wanted to have a figure painted by us but are too shy to ask?
Perhaps we are not within your budget or maybe you just like to paint for yourself.

Well with my new 'Write a review about us' program you can have a figure painted by me at no cost.

The only thing I ask is that you write a review about our service. This is only a trial run so it is only open to the first 5 people who contact me but if it goes well I may invite more people to participate.

Below is a breakdown of how it would work.

1) Send me an email with your name and contact details along with the figure you would like me to paint. (please note the figure has to be supplied by you)

2) We will agree that upon receiving the painted figure you will write a review about our service.

3) You would then send the figure via recorded post preferably and once painted I will photograph and send the figure back to you.

4) Once you receive the figure you will then write the review.

CONTACT US VIA OUR EMAIL ADDRESS AVAILABLE FROM OUR WEBSITE http://artmasterstudio.co.uk

Not sure on how to write a review? Here are a few handy tips.

If you have an existing blog you could create a blog post reviewing the service with pictures of the model (supplied by me)

If not you could start a new blog.

If you don't fancy writing on your blog then why not join a forum? The Steve dean forum is a great place to start and you could create a post there for your review.

STEVE DEAN FORUM http://www.sdean-forum.co.uk/phpBB3/index.php

Finally I need to list a few requirements for you to consider before emailing us.

1) Only 1 review per person and only 1 model unless otherwise agreed upon.

2) I prefer Historical models but will take on fantasy and sci fi. Again mention this in the email.

3) I will paint anything from 15mm to 40mm.

4) I reserve the right to cancel the exchange at any time if I feel necessary.

5) If you fail to write a review then you will not be considered for any future reviews.

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you!
